Blackberry, Necessity or Trendy??

Some time ago, people shocked by the emergence of smart phones Blackberry (BB). This vendor ever achieved as King of Gadget because of its popularity. Smart phones made by company centered in Canada, "transformed" as a classy phones which the owners of it labeled as the rich people.

The advantage of this mobile phone is friendly texting feature. So, since it launched in 1999, Blackberry can earn 8 million users, and beat its senior competitors, such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, etc. Its extra features are the easy way to communicate with people outside via IM (instant messenger) and BBM (Blackberry Messenger) applications which even ousted Facebook as online social media in present days. 

This reason also impact in our psychology aspect. As if "silent weapon", it has influenced as Antonio Gramsci said in his theory of hegemony. What is hegemony itself??

"...Dominant groups in society, including fundamentally but not exclusively the ruling class, maintain their dominance by securing the 'spontaneous consent' of subordinate groups, including the working class, through the negotiated construction of a political and ideological consensus which incorporates both dominant and dominated groups."

Beware of this "silent weapon", because in under our awareness, the capitalism is colonizing us. How it could be work?? Most of us have hypnotized by the capitalism which created by the Blackberry company, in order to we interest to buy this product although we had to spend a lot of money to buy this costly gadget, even the features of BB almost same with other Mid-Low end mobile phones. It was same as consensus conception hegemony of Gramsci about acceptance of socio-politic rule, so though it was so expensive, in fact Blackberry still selling well in our markets, and it also makes Blackberry become a standard social status of someone.

If we could see when we just alone in a crowd, buy movie ticket, even just hangout with our friends, in fact we  busy with ourselves and Blackberry, of course. Just for calling someone, texting to our friends, BBM-ing with our friends BBM contact, watching our photos, or just re-read our old messages. I don't know this phenomenon is a kind of "escape" from world or what, actually. In my opinion, it could less our togetherness with our friends and everyone around us because of the Blackberry existence itself.

And how to negotiate about this matter??
First, we have known the reason of belonging this smart phone.. For necessity or just for trendy??
Second, just use our smart phone as a smart person. How?? Use the function as well as possible, depends on our needs.

Third, don't activate Blackberry Messenger if we do not need it. Besides, it can save our money, it also help to restrain global warming. Save energy, save our earth..
